Information for Parents
Are Play Systems products safe for my child?
Yes. All of our products are independently certified to meet strict New Zealand and international safety standards. Every design is carefully tested for stability, strength, and age-appropriateness, so you can feel confident your child is safe while they play and learn.
What age group are your products designed for?
We make a range of products suitable from toddlerhood through to preschool and beyond. Each product has a recommended age guide, but children develop at different speeds, so we encourage parents to choose what best suits their child’s stage.
How do I know which product is right for my child?
Think about your child’s age, interests, and current stage of development. Many of our toys and learning tools are designed to grow with your child, offering new challenges as their skills progress. If you’re unsure, our team is happy to guide you.
Are the materials safe and eco-friendly?
Yes. We use ethically sourced materials and, where possible, reclaimed wood to reduce waste. All finishes are non-toxic and child safe, so you don’t need to worry about little hands and mouths exploring.
How do I look after Play Systems products?
A simple wipe with a damp cloth is all that’s needed to keep them clean. For wooden items, a light application of natural oil from time to time will help maintain their durability and finish.
Where are your products made?
Every Play Systems product is proudly designed and made in New Zealand. By keeping production local, we ensure quality while supporting Kiwi jobs and communities.
What if something breaks or gets lost?
Our products are built to last, but accidents can happen. We keep spare parts for many items, so get in touch with us and we’ll do our best to help.
Information for Schools & ECE
Are Play Systems products suitable for group use?
Yes. Our products are designed with early learning centres and schools in mind. They are built to withstand daily use by multiple children, with robust construction and durable finishes that hold up in busy learning environments.
Do your products meet early childhood safety standards?
All of our products are independently certified in accordance with NZS 5828:2015, AS/NZS 8124.1:2023, and AS/NZS 8124.6:2016.3. This ensures they meet the highest standards for safety, strength, and design in New Zealand learning environments.
Can your equipment be used both indoors and outdoors?
Play Systems products are designed for safe indoor play. For best results, place them on a flat, stable surface away from stairs, steps, and water areas such as swimming pools. Kitchen Helpers should be used on hard flooring such as vinyl, wood, or tiles, while products like climbing frames and ramps are best suited to soft flooring such as carpet. Avoid using wooden products in very humid environments, including bathrooms.
Do you provide bulk order or centre-wide packages?
Yes. We work closely with early learning centres and schools to create tailored packages that meet their specific needs. Bulk orders are available, and we can provide quotes based on your requirements.
How do Play Systems products support learning outcomes?
Our products are designed to encourage purposeful play that supports the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum (Te Whāriki). They help develop motor skills, problem-solving, collaboration, and independence, making them ideal tools for structured and free play.
What maintenance is required?
Play Systems products are finished with a clear, durable hard wax oil that is low maintenance, food safe, and resistant to stains from fruit juices, saliva, milk, and water. Clean the product with a damp, soft cloth and a mild cleaning agent. Avoid saturating the plywood edges with water and keep the product away from direct heat sources.
Do you offer support for teachers and educators?
Yes. We provide guidance notes and activity ideas with many of our products. Our team can also advise on how to integrate equipment into your existing learning programmes to maximise engagement and learning outcomes.
